December 19, 2012 — Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray on Wednesday traveled to northeast Massachusetts to visit the sites of two companies who have a significant presence in the Commonwealth: Harris Corp. and Juniper Networks.
Harris Corp.
The Lt. Governor’s first stop was Harris Corp., an international communications and information technology company that maintains a wireless division headquarters with several hundred employees at 150 Apollo Drive in Chelmsford. The company has approximately $6 billion of annual revenue and more than 16,000 employees — including nearly 7,000 engineers and scientists. Harris serves government and commercial markets in more than 150 countries and as one of the nation’s largest defense contractors, every military division relies upon Harris radios for field and combat communications.
In April of 2009, Harris acquired the wireless division of Tyco Electronics (formerly M/A COM), which was an established provider of mission-critical wireless communications systems for law enforcement, fire and rescue, and public service organizations. As a result, the Company’s Massachusetts has become substantial.

Juniper Networks
The next stop for the Lt. Governor was Juniper Networks, an information technology and computer networking company founded in 1996. It is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with an Eastern US headquarters in Westford. The Westford office is part of a large presence in the Commonwealth with approximately 1000 employees involved in, among other things, technical development and sales.
