A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick

Whereas  Life insurance helps  provide financial security for families in the event of a premature death by helping surviving family members to meet immediate, ongoing and future financial obligations and objectives; and

Whereas Many Americans believe that life insurance is an essential part of a sound financial plan; and many households state they lack adequate life insurance protection; and

Whereas Determining how much and what kind of insurance to buy is one of the most important financial decisions consumers will ever make; and

Whereas Life Insurance Awareness Month is a time to remind all citizens about the importance of being financially prepared for the unexpected death of a family member and encourage consumers to seek professional advice and take the actions necessary to achieve the financial security of their loved ones,

Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim September 2012 to be,


And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.

Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston, this twenty-ninth day of August, in the year two thousand and twelve, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the two hundred and thirty-sixth.
