July 7, 2010 (Washington) – The National Flea Market Association (NFMA)
announced today the hiring of The Suffolk Group and Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications to lead the association’s government relations effort in Washington, DC. The firms have been selected="true"="true"="true"="true"="true" to provide federal public affairs support to assist the NFMA and further educate members of Congress about the flea market industry in Washington and across the country.
NFMA was founded in 1998 to serve as the national voice for the flea market industry, and functions as an educational resource, policy advocate and public affairs center for the flea markets and the agencies with who they conduct
business.
“Our outreach efforts in Washington will help raise awareness about issues that are critical to both consumers and small businessmen engaged in the flea market industry,” said Jeff Mann, President, NFMA. “We strongly believe that Rasky Baerlein and The Suffolk Group will help the association achieve our federal public affairs objectives, which is to reinforce NFMA as an invaluable source of information, guidance, and support for the industry.”
NFMA is the nation’s only national trade association to represent the flea
market industry and works to preserve, protect and promote the interests of all those who are currently operating in the industry. Currently, the flea market industry provides opportunities for thousands of vendors, full time employees, staff and their families. Flea markets are visited by millions of customers each year and contribute to local and state economies through real estate, food, and
sales and use taxes. More information on NFMA can be found here:
